Feltectors gaming mat review

Feltectors Gaming Mats Review

A gaming mat is a luxury item in my mind. These neoprene mats protect your table from the abuses of game night and give you a surface that improves any game experience. Our first game mat was a piece of neoprene that a friend gave us years ago. We made a big purchase at a game convention two years ago when we were ready to upgrade to a nicer mat.

Earlier this year, Feltectors approached us about checking out their line of neoprene board game mats. I did a video review of the first mat and was really impressed with the quality and the pricing of the product. Over the summer, Feltectors sent us a couple of their newer mats and these things exceeded my expectations.

Quality Without Breaking the Bank

Our first Feltectors game mat was a blue 36 x 42 mat, 3mm thick, with excellent stitching around the edges of the mat. I was impressed with the quality of the mat but it didn’t meet the needs of our very long IKEA table at the time. This size mat was excellent for 4 players and it ended up being a gaming mat that we brought with us to friends houses when playing games. The bag made this a great option when gaming on the go.

This Summer, Feltectors started carrying gaming mats that measure 72 and 73 inches long. This is exactly what we were looking for considering the long table we have in our game room. We received the black gaming mat and it’s been an amazing addition to our game table.

I really like the quality of this gaming mat and the small changes that have been made to this new line of mats. This is still a 3mm thick mat with some excellent stitching on every edge. The addition of the logo on the mat is a nice touch and is easily recognizable for people who are interested in who made the mat.

The non-slip backing on the game mat keeps everything in place and I’m not worried about the edges of the mat creeping off the table. The pattern is nice and rarely clashes with the games that we have on the table. We’ve actually used this new mat on almost every piece of video content that we’ve produced on our YouTube channel since receiving it in August.

The best part of these gaming mats has to be the price. Feltectors game mats are priced in a way that makes them accessible for a wide audience. While our convention purchased mat cost over $100, this black Feltectors mat that has identical measurements is priced under $60. Included with the mat is a carrying bag that I pointed out in my previous video review as a really nice addition. They also now have their logo on the carrying bag which was a smart move.

More Gaming Surfaces

Feltectors makes a range of other mats that are associated with different types of gaming. This includes two Texas Hold’em Poker mats, two different war gaming mats that have a terrain pattern, a checkers/chess mat, and a Mahjong mat. We have some friends who are avid Mahjong players and we were able to gift one of these mats to them a couple months ago.

The mat is a beautiful green color with accents around the 32 x 32 inch surface. Having a dedicated mat for their Mahjong games keeps their tiles in good shape and provides noise reduction when their heavy duty tiles hit the table.

If you haven’t heard of Feltectors before, you need to check them out. Every mat that we’ve seen from this company has been high quality and leveled up our gaming experience. For a long time, we held off on owning a gaming mat and now I can’t imagine not owning one. The Feltectors line of gaming mats are affordable without sacrificing quality.

Drop by the Feltectors website and see if they have a gaming mat that is right for your table.
