We are your average American family. We have a couple of kids, a dog, and a few chickens living in our backyard. So… that last thing might be a little weird.
For our family, table top gaming (or board gaming) has been a huge part of our life since getting married in 2002. There’s something about board games that bring people together and create community. We have built some amazing relationships over the years as we’ve gathered around our dining room table for some friendly competition.
As our kids have gotten older, they’ve adopted this same passion for gaming. Because of this, we’ve grown closer as a family. Gaming has allowed our family much needed time away from the many screens we encounter each day, and has allowed us to focus on each other.
What is One Board Family all about? We want to share our journey into board gaming from the family perspective. We’ll be sharing family friendly games as well as games that make a regular appearance on our dining room table. We want to share some old favorites, some new discoveries and everything in between.
Don’t expect a ten page dissertation on the strategies behind RISK. We want to bring fun, exciting and accessible games to your attention. Sometimes we’ll focus on kids games and other times we’ll focus on more in-depth games that will keep you guessing.
